Business File Transfer Terms & Acceptable Use
Business documents only. Upload and share only material you are authorized to use for a legitimate business purpose. Pornographic or sexual content, illegal material, and unauthorized disclosure of another person's personal information are prohibited.
1. Scope and authorized access
These terms govern use of the file transfer portal at mohi.ca. “Operator” means the organization administering this portal. “DCC” means its authorized document controller. Only an authorized DCC may upload and manage transfers. Recipients may access only files specifically assigned to them. The DCC must accept these terms before each new transfer; recipients must follow these terms when accessing, downloading, or using shared files.
2. Permitted business documents
Permitted material includes authorized engineering drawings, CAD files, specifications, calculations, technical reports, inspection and quality records, project correspondence, commercial proposals, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, manuals, and other documents directly related to legitimate business or professional activities. Use the minimum information necessary and assign only approved recipients.
3. Prohibited content and conduct
You must not upload, store, transmit, request, or distribute:
- Pornography, sexually explicit or intimate material, sexual exploitation content, or other sexual content, including non-consensual images and material involving minors.
- Material whose possession or disclosure is unlawful, or content used to facilitate fraud, theft, extortion, trafficking, criminal activity, threats, harassment, or abuse.
- Another person's private, sensitive, or confidential information without appropriate authority and a lawful business purpose. This includes unauthorized identity documents, medical records, banking details, personal addresses, private messages, and credentials.
- Personal photographs, entertainment, private correspondence, or other material unrelated to the approved business purpose.
- Stolen documents, trade secrets, copyrighted material, or confidential third-party records you are not entitled to disclose; material shared in breach of a contract, professional duty, or legal restriction.
- Malware, ransomware, malicious scripts, phishing content, or files designed to compromise systems. Do not conceal prohibited material inside archives, mislabel files, bypass access controls, or share DCC credentials.
4. Privacy, confidentiality, and recipient authorization
Confirm your authority to disclose each file and obtain consent where required. Remove unnecessary personal information before uploading. Necessary business contact details and lawfully authorized personal information may be included only for the approved business purpose and approved recipients. An assigned email address does not independently verify identity or mailbox ownership. Confirm recipient details and share passwords separately from links. Recipients must safeguard downloaded files and must not forward them or grant access to others without authorization.
5. Engineering document control
The DCC is responsible for checking the project reference, revision, issue status, confidentiality classification, and recipient distribution before release. A file's availability or download does not establish technical approval, authenticity, fitness for purpose, or permission for construction or manufacture. Verify revision status and obtain the required professional review and approvals before relying on engineering information. Do not falsify approvals, signatures, inspection records, or revision history.
6. Ownership and responsibility
Ownership and intellectual property rights remain with their lawful holders. You authorize the Operator to receive, store, protect, transmit, and remove files as necessary to operate the transfer service and address misuse or legal obligations. Uploading does not grant a recipient rights beyond the authorized business purpose or applicable agreement. You remain responsible for the legality, accuracy, authorization, and appropriateness of your files and use of the service.
7. Security, retention, and service limitations
The portal uses assigned recipient credentials, private encrypted storage, and transfer expiry. The Operator holds the storage encryption key; the service is not end-to-end encrypted. Security controls do not guarantee that every prohibited file or security threat will be detected. Retain approved records in your organization's document management system; this portal is not the authoritative archive. Expiry, deletion, or revocation cannot retrieve copies already downloaded, and backups may follow separate retention arrangements. Service availability and file delivery are not guaranteed. Transfer records include the DCC's terms acceptance version, account name, and time, together with recipient and access records, for administration and accountability.
8. Misuse, removal, and reporting
The Operator may reject or remove files, revoke links, restrict access, or suspend use to address a suspected breach, security issue, or legal requirement. It may preserve relevant records and respond to lawful requests where required or permitted by applicable law. Report inappropriate content, misdirected documents, suspected unauthorized disclosure, or compromised credentials promptly to the DCC or portal administrator through your established business contact. Do not redistribute suspect material. No continuous human review or automatic content classification is promised.
9. Acceptance and applicable obligations
Before creating a transfer, the DCC must confirm that the files are authorized business documents, the recipients are approved, and the transfer complies with these terms. The current terms are available on this page; new transfers require acceptance of the current version. Applicable law, professional duties, confidentiality agreements, and project-specific document controls continue to apply. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded.
